Morning Choir & Rainbow Rave present: DECIDUUS with Hiroko Yamamura On Friday, April 25, we will finally bring Hiroko Yamamura to The Fruit—a booking five years in the making. Originally set to play under DECIDUUS in April 2020, this show was one of the first we had to cancel due to COVID. Now, it’s finally happening. A key figure in underground electronic music, Hiroko’s sound fuses Chicago’s house legacy with raw, driving techno—heard everywhere from Movement Detroit to Berghain.Classic Chicago ride or die style DJ/producer influenced by The Warehouse, technology, and straight up techno, it’s no wonder she has been named one of Chicago’s top 10 DJ’s by XLR8R magazine. Technology and exploration are at the roots of Hiroko’s core. Equally enthralled by the beat and the machines generating them, her sound is an homage to every circuit, resistor, patch cord and application that brings voice and inspiration to her work. Her gothic and industrial roots are evident in her music, as well as her punk rock DIY drive. Taking inspiration from classic science fiction and dark anime, Hiroko’s studio can often be confused for a booth at a comic convention. GRRL, the Durham, North Carolina DJ and producer is known for honing in on a sharp and viscerally engaging production on the dancefloor – with hardcore edges and sweet sustained points will be joining the killer lineup. The lineup will also feature renowned Durham producer thefacesblur b2b Lex Nell, Zac Lor and ssaabbllee. DECIDUUS is an event series by Morning Choir which features underground artists from around the world.
